Save The Quest is a registered charitable trust working to advance inclusive education, accessibility and community development. Through its programmes, the organisation addresses barriers that prevent children, youth and persons with disabilities from accessing quality education, opportunities and essential support services. The Scribe Bank Initiative is its flagship programme promoting equitable access to examinations for students with visual impairments.
Eligible candidates may register their request through the Scribe Bank platform or contact the organisation directly. After verifying eligibility and examination details, Save The Quest matches the candidate with a trained and verified volunteer scribe. Applicants are encouraged to submit requests well in advance to facilitate timely volunteer mobilisation.
Yes. Save The Quest provides examination scribe support to eligible beneficiaries free of cost. The service is delivered through a network of trained volunteers in accordance with applicable examination guidelines and institutional requirements.
A disability certificate helps expedite the verification process. However, where appropriate documentation is unavailable, supporting documents such as recommendations from educational institutions or medical practitioners may be considered during the verification process, subject to programme guidelines.
The Scribe Bank programme primarily supports students with visual impairments requiring examination assistance. Through other initiatives such as Project TAARE, Save The Quest also works with children with diverse disabilities by providing educational support, inclusive learning opportunities and community-based interventions.
The provision of compensatory time varies across examination boards and universities. Candidates are advised to refer to the guidelines issued by their respective examination authority, as policies differ depending on the institution and applicable disability provisions.
